Måneskin rumoured to perform at Sanremo 2027

The organizational machine of the 77th edition of the Sanremo Festival, scheduled from February 16 to 20, 2027, is officially underway. The host and artistic director Stefano De Martino is working on defining the cast and, according to early rumors, the big surprise could be the reunion of the Måneskin.

At the end of August 2026, previews released by TV Sorrisi e Canzoni and picked up by Radio Italia suggested that the formalization of their participation on the Ariston stage was imminent: the four Roman musicians would be ready to reunite after a period of pause and parallel paths.

The idea of a comeback was not unexpected. A first hint emerged on May 11, 2026, when Fiorello, during La Pennicanza, spoke about a meeting with drummer Ethan Torchio and guitarist Thomas Raggi, openly discussing a reunion set for Sanremo 2027. Shortly after, when asked by Adnkronos, De Martino maintained cautious but revealing tones, alluding to a “meeting to be held at Sanremo.” An expression that, in light of the late summer confirmations, now appears to be part of a dossier that has been in the works for some time and managed with great confidentiality.

In the operation, Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, the historic manager close to the group’s universe, would also be prominently involved.

Fans have been waiting for a structured return of the band for about three years. Since the release of the last studio album, “Rush!”, on January 20, 2023, the quartet has slowed down their joint activities to embark on different artistic and personal trajectories. Unlike many famous bands, however, the Måneskin have never officially announced a breakup. This suspension has preserved the collective identity of the project, allowing each member to explore new paths without undermining the value of the shared brand.

Particularly noteworthy has been the individual journey of the frontman, Damiano David, who has launched a solid solo project, marked by the singles “Silverlines”, “Born With a Broken Heart”, and “Next Summer”, accompanied by the announcement of a World Tour in 2025. In October 2025, from the stage of the Forum di Assago, as reported by Vanity Fair, the artist clarified the meaning of his choice: “At a certain point, something broke inside me, and I had to resolve it on my own.” Words that excluded tensions within the group, relating the solo period to a personal need to regain balance.

In parallel, bassist Victoria De Angelis has dedicated herself to international music productions and DJ sets, while Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio have continued with individual projects away from the band’s spotlight.

A potential return to the Ariston would have an obvious symbolic value. It was the victory at Sanremo 2021 with “Zitti e buoni” that paved the way for the triumph at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, propelling Måneskin onto the global stage. Industry insiders, however, emphasize that participation in Sanremo 2027 would primarily concern a live performance and would not automatically imply the announcement of a new album or a stable long-term recording comeback.

For Rai and Stefano De Martino, it would still be a highly impactful editorial operation, capable of attracting the attention of national and international media to the 2027 edition, linking it to the most exported Italian music brand of the last five years.
